12 Hours and Counting

In just a little over 12 hours I will be checked into our wonderful hospital to be 'encouraged' to have a baby.  I am a little nervous of going the induction route again as my last experience was near perfect and I can't possibly be that lucky again right?  I do feel more comfortable though at this point having little girl out than in, since the last appointment I had fallen behind even further and am measuring 4 weeks behind in growth!

I am so happy though that we've made it this far (39 weeks) since I had been expecting the go ahead anytime after 35 due to growth restriction issues.  Turns out little girl didn't have any growth restrictions on her own, it's just Mama and a little problem with our amniotic fluid.  They assure me that it's not in the 'danger' zone, but close so I have just been taking it easy to keep the stress off baby and drinking my fluids.  Yesterday I had a bad bout of nausea and even a one time horrible case of puking so all in all I'm just ready for her to be out and safe.  Being my second time around I'm actually a little 'excited' for the birth experience, and I can't wait to be back in control of my own body. I love my children, but I don't love being pregnant.

CK has been trying to step up with Bug, and it's nice to see them spend time together. I know it's frustrating dealing with a toddler after a long day of work but I'm sure he'll be jumping at the chance to take Bug out once the newborn screaming commences!  All about perspective.

Our lovely family came and spent Thanksgiving with us, well the young ones at least. It was a great day. We also have been doing projects around the house to get ready for baby and just to feel more 'settled in'. Still a long ways to go, as CK said today... we get more room just to get more stuff to fill it up!  Mostly though, life is boring at least until tomorrow. I have learned to crochet and am so far loving it, can't wait to make a bunch of adorable baby things for my own precious girl and her two cousins coming in Feb and March of next year!

Day by Day

Sitting here on a lovely Thursday evening, 9 months pregnant, sans family and trying to enjoy a peaceful moment that soon will be completely non-existant.  After catching a nasty sinus infection from my darling Bug last week I was very behind on sleep and being in my condition, his Nana decided it would be best to take him up to the ranch so that Mama could have a few days rest.  His daddy picked him up there and I guess they've been out today doing boy things with Papa and I'm excited to meet them tomorrow for our very busy weekend.  I really did need the rest, it's been wonderful to have time to just relax and read blogs, do laundry for our little lady's arrival and watch the shows I like to watch. Ready to be back with my family though I sure do miss that little stinker.  Oh, and guess what Bug's response was when asked if he wanted to go with Nana to the ranch?   "Me help feed MOOOOS!"  Okay buddy, your first REAL sentence bought you a ticket out of here and left your Mama in a stunned state of pride. What a smart little guy. I guess he has been helping feed the doggie calf and walking her like a pet dog. Also a lot of riding on a 'bike' (quad) and general outside ranch life. He loves every minute.

Ugh holidays.  It's so hard to plan for anything at 9 months pregnant, let alone the upcoming onslaught of birthdays, Thanksgivings, Christmas plans, etc.  It's especially hard when certain members of the family are being uncooperative.. that's all I have to say about that.  Bring on the holiday cheer... please!  Hopefully in just a few more weeks that'll be in the form of some kind of alcohol and I just can't wait.

Bug's First Weekend Away

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to my family and friends!   I am definitely being thankful today, both for a break and for the wonderful family that I have.  I am feeling it extra special today because it has been over 30 hours since I have seen any of them!

This weekend was a big training weekend for my tutoring job and CK is off guiding for the first half of this month, so I had to make arrangements for Bug to be away from Mama for the FIRST TIME since his birth.  For the whole weekend. Ack.  It's a really great break that I needed for sure, especially with having so much going on (we're also showing the house for new renters, I'm 32 weeks pregnant) but I miss my boy more than I thought I would! Actually I lie, I don't miss him the way I need him here right now or anything, but it has been wonderful to have him drift into my thoughts throughout the days with the cutest things he does or says, and how for the last few weeks he has been extra snuggly before tucking in at night. I can't wait to pick him up tomorrow and give him tons of loving! For now I'm relaxing on the couch reorganizing our files and catching up on bills without having to fear the toddler-paper-shredder. Thankful.

Of course he's doing much better than Mama, although his caretakers tell me he is asking about me throughout the day. He has been off visiting cousins, playing with ranch animals, riding bikes and watching horses.  The pictures CK's cousin sent me of their day together yesterday made me smile, I must have looked at them a dozen times already. When did he get so big?

Things are moving along with our upcoming relocation. Not that I've started packing or anything. I did collect stacks of boxes and organized our house for the showings. I am cleaning out drawers and junk, some headed for the trash, some headed for Goodwill, and it all feels wonderful!  I am feeling contractions every once and a while and my back is not happy with me by the end of everyday but I tell myself it will all be worth it for the extra space and privacy for our family in just a few short weeks. Stewing over the logistics and sheer workload of a move is just something I refuse to let myself do, I just know that it will all work out eventually.
